Sarla Arora, a single mother, runs Kumkum Bhagya, a marriage hall for her daughters, Pragya and Bulbul. She struggles to find a groom for her daughters, and they get on each other's bad side. Abhishek "Abhi" Prem Mehra, Abhi's grandmother, asks for Pragya's hand in marriage, which she agrees to. However, she discovers that Alia, Abhi's sister, is in love with Purab Khanna, Abhi's best friend, and is in love with Bulbul. Abhi agrees to marry her, but they are kidnapped by Neel, the corporator, and his henchmen. Pragya confesses her love for Abhi, but Abhi realizes she is lying. Abhi discovers that Pragya is pregnant with Abhi's child and wants everyone to hate her. She goes missing and is presumed dead, but later returns to reveal that she is only interested in money. She and others scheming to expose Alia and Tanu. Bulbul and Purab marry, and Pragya has a dream that Alia killed Bulbul. Alia plans to kill Pragya, but Bulbul saves her and dies by suicide.

Episode 1
Sarla, Pragya's mother, prepares for Pragya’s wedding. She welcomes Tarun, Pragya's groom, and his family. Further, Pushpa, Tarun's mother, learns that Bulbul and Pragya are sisters.
Episode 2
Kabir's wife Sweety manipulates Kabir, Pragya's uncle, to forcibly acquire Kumkum Bhagya. Further, Sarla asks Suresh, Pragya's friend, to accompany Bulbul to retrieve her jewellery.
Episode 3
At the Arora house, Sweety asks Sarla for the possession papers of Kumkum Bhagya. Sarla gives the papers to her lawyers. Further, Suresh arrives there and shows the tax papers and bills to Sweety and the lawyers.
Episode 4
Dadi, Abhi's grandmother, asks him to get married. Further, Suresh and Pragya arrive at the BMC office. The officer misbehaves with Suresh. Pragya takes Suresh's side and replies to him.
Episode 5
Suresh advises Bulbul to accept Neil's proposal. Bulbul informs Sarla and Pragya that she wishes to marry Neil. Further, Neil gives the papers of Kumkum Bhagya to Sarla.
Episode 6
Arvind convinces Suresh to propose to Bulbul, and Suresh gives her a red rose. However, Bulbul assumes that the rose is for Pragya and gives it to her. Pragya believes that Suresh is in love with her.
Episode 7
Bulbul notices Suresh with a ring and assumes he has got it for Pragya. She asks everyone to take cover so that Suresh can propose to Pragya. When Pragya enquires about the ring, Suresh points at Bulbul.
Episode 8
Bulbul visits the office of Purab, Abhi's friend, for an interview and gets the job. Further, Pragya slips and falls off the bridge while trying to wish upon a shooting star.

At the Arora house, everyone celebrates Rachna’s ‘roka’, a pre-wedding ceremony. Bulbul hints at Suresh and requests him to drink alcohol. Further, a drunken Suresh tries to propose to Bulbul,
Episode 10
Sarla and Madhavi discuss Suresh and Pragya’s engagement. Meanwhile, Suresh wakes up and tries to recall Bulbul’s reply. He asks Pragya about the previous night, and is unaware of proposing to Pragya instead of Bulbul.
