Urmi Singh, a girl in Jhansi, dreams of marrying wealthy businessman Samrat Singh Rathore, unaware of his true nature. Despite her best friend Ishaan Sinha's advice, Urmi ignores her cousin Trisha's warnings and marries Samrat. Samrat abuses Urmi, and her family is terrified. Ishaan discovers Samrat's deceit and breaks ties with Urmi. Urmi returns to her parents' house after finding out she is pregnant with Samrat's child. They have a son, Shaurya, and Samrat is sentenced to six years in prison. Ishaan helps Urmi get a divorce, and Samrat kills himself. Ishaan's mother blames Urmi for Ishaan's death. 20 years later, Shaurya and Ishaani grow up, and Ishaani reconciles with Urmi. Damini is imprisoned, but Urmi shoots her, reunites the family.
